Yep, I'm decorated for Halloween now and already thinking about Christmas (Brett, if you're reading this I know you're rolling your eyes right now!) So I'm wondering, do any of you start shopping way ahead of time and just hide stuff away until December? Every year I think I'll shop ahead, then we wait and end up among the millions of people packed into the mall in the winter, growling under our breath at the swarms around us, who're stuck in the same long lines doing the same thing. Does anyone have a head start already this year? And when and if you do buy stuff early, where do you hide it so your kids won't find it, and so that you'll remember it???

Hi Wendy! Yes, I Christmas shop early. In fact I am almost halfway done for this year. I do have the problem where I hide it REALLY well and then I can't find it myself come Christmas Eve. We have done a lot of last minute shopping just because I don't know where the presents got hidden! So post some halloween decoration pictures already!! :)
I do my Christmas shopping early - but only for the gifts I'll give my friends. No use hiding presents from my kids; if they know I've bought them, they'll find out where it's hidden before I've even wrapped them!
I kinda have to get my shopping done early so I'm already a goo chunk of the way through it. Don't want to be fighting the masses just after a c-section!
Actually, we have an extra dresser in our bedroom that I call my gift cache. Anything that I buy on sale or clearance as a gift goes in there. It has shelves and drawers so I have a drawer designated for each child and put stuff in there that I want to give them. I also have a "baby shower" drawer. :)
Yep. Especially if you have to do it Solo. I have lots done already. I am just putting the finishing touches on the extended family gifts, then I just have a few things for the two kids to worry about. This way Ryan has some input.
So,I have already started the Christmas shopping madness. I usually hide the kids stuff in my closet, but I wouldn't recomend that as a good hiding spot seeing that Hallie always finds her gifts in there and then I frantically have to think of explanations as to what the gifts are for. Luckily I have a lock on our basement door where I'll be hiding gifts this year in storage bins that aren't see through. Good luck!
Hey there sister -- Speaking of Christmas shopping, I just found this great paper doll book at Costco that I was going to get for Anna, but I wanted to make sure you hadn't already bought it? It's princess and fairies -- so you know Jacob alread has one and he thinks Anna would like one too.
Also, I am putting a gift in the mail for Quinner today. I found this great CD at the library of kids music -- with an excellent song about how you should only poop in the potty. It's pretty good stuff -- I think Quinn will like it a lot! And perhaps it will inspire him to drop a load in the appropriate spot. Or not? But you will walk around singing about poop all day, and I know I will like that! XOXO Jillian
Fall is approaching and and first comes Halloween with it’s crazy costumes.
